Björn Mårlid steps down as CEO of Altris

Björn Mårlid and the Altris board have mutually agreed that Björn will step down as CEO, effective 4th of September, to pursue new opportunities. This decision follows a shared conclusion that new leadership is required as Altris enters the next phase of its growth journey.

We have formed several strategic partnerships and advanced the production of our sodium-ion cathode material and battery cells. We want to thank Björn for his hard work and contributions to Altris and wish him all the best for the future”, says Torbjörn Sternsjö, Chairman of Altris.

The board has initiated a recruitment process for anew CEO. While the search for a permanent replacement is conducted, the board has appointed CFO and Deputy CEO Christer Bergquist as interim CEO.

The Swedish sodium-ion battery developer Altris has entered into a strategic collaboration with Oscilion, a subsidiary of Scandinavian Astor Group AB, with the aim of offering the defense sector a new generation of robust, climate-adapted, and sustainable energy storage solutions. Altris announces investment and collaboration with Volvo Cars

Stockholm, Sweden

The Swedish sodium-ion battery developer Altris has today announced that Volvo Cars Tech Fund, the venture capital arm of Volvo Cars, is one of the strategic investors in Altris’ B1 funding round. In connection with this investment, Altris has entered into an agreement with Volvo Cars to collaborate on product development to identify new potential battery energy storage systems.
