Scaling up production of Fennac in 2022

In 2023, Altris’ first industrial production facility, Ferrum, will begin producing the ground-breaking cathode material Fennac in Sandviken, Sweden. Ferrum will annually produce 2000 metric tonnes of Fennac, enabling 1GWh of sustainable sodium-ion batteries to enter the market each year. Until this facility is up and running, however, Altris needs scale-up existing production of Fennac to meet customer demands already in 2022.

Altris to Manufacture Ground-breaking Cathode Material in Sandviken, Sweden

Sodium-ion battery cathode producer Altris AB has today signed a deal with AB Sandvik Materials Technology to house the company’s first industrial scale manufacturing facility in Sandviken. The new facility, called ‘Ferrum’, will have the annual capacity to produce 2000 metric tonnes of Altris’ ground-breaking cathode material Fennac – enabling 1GWh of sustainable sodium-ion batteries to enter the market each year.

Altris Secures €9.6 million in Series A Funding

Today Uppsala-based sodium-ion battery company Altris AB announces that it has raised €9.6 Million (100 MSEK) in a Series A funding round. The funding secures Altris’production scale-up of the company’s innovative battery cathode material, Fennac, to 2,000 tonnes, enabling 1 GWh of sustainable batteries and further research and development of sodium-ion batteries to take place.
